Do you mean that you rub the epsom salts on your moistened skin rather than taking a bath with the salts?

I do take baths with it, but yes, I use it directly on my skin. I made an ointment of epsom salts arnica oil and bees wax, ()not entirley successful because the epsom doesn't dissolve in oil). But if I moisten my skin, the epsom dissolves and the arnica absorbs and it works really well for me.

Whitehorse, I found your suggestion fascinating, so I dissolved some Epsom salts in water and then whisked it with my arnica-St. John's wort ointment. I have to shake it before I use it, because as you pointed out the salts don't dissolve in oil. It's hard to know if the massage is helping more than the ointment but I think they're both part of it!

LOL!
That combination sounds really great!
I've not made st. joans wort oil yet but I'm working on some tincture. I hope that we get some hot sunny days in a row.

yes. along with the arnica. I do it right after a bath or shower.
