For the last month weeks, I have been suffering with hemorrhoids. In Down There Susan recommends taking 2 dropperfuls of stoneroot tincture daily. It sounds like stone root might be an good ally against other types of varicose veins as well, which would be a plus! Is there any reason that stone root should not be taken during pregnancy?

Hi RMC.....pregnacy requires care, so I pulled out Susun's book" Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year" and on pages 31-32 she writes for hemorrhoids she suggests BAKING SODA for itching, WITCH HAZEL or LEMON JUICE (will burn some), GRATED RAW POTATO to ease swelling and pain, COMFREY or YELLOWDOCK ROOT OINTMENT to reduce swelling, ease pain and swelling, Insert a peeled CLOVE OF GARLIC, wrapped in gauze and oiled then inserted in rectum overnight to reduce swelling, and PLANTAIN and Yarrow ointment to immediately relieve pain and shrink hemorrhoids in a matter of days.
HERBAL SITZ BATHS using WITCH HAZEL or PLANTAIN LEAVES or COMFREY ROOT or WHITE OAK BARK.
I hope you find relief!
