Native Americans have used the herb for many things besides cancer, common cold for one and mouth wash/ rinse for toothaches (found that tidbit in a Dr. Christopher's Herbal Legacy website).

You might do better by making small batches of other herbed oil then blend together to desired strength. The current batch of oil can only absorb so much, anything more would be a waste of product. Ratios, it depends if I'm just winging it then I just cover the herb in oil, let it soak overnight the...

Comfrey leaves are often added to compost, and I know many herbalists place spent herb around the base of plants as a 'mulch'.

Could be it had a stressful day, got too hot or too dry for a short time. Could be winding down for Fall, putting energy into the roots instead of leaves.
Has it flowered yet?
Potted plants act different, they are in a world of their own so to speak.

Personally I would work with those herb to oil proportions and the beeswax looks good.
I like to start with (by weight) 1 1/2 oz. beeswax To 1 pint oil.
I recently saw a recipe like yours but with the addition of Turmeric....hmmm except for the arnica I could eat the salve lol spread it on toast! lol

Tomatoes are a hit around here too.... gotta get the immune systems pumped up for flu and cold season and tomatoes are chocked full of antioxidants and Vit. C.

Does she flavor her kefir?
Stirring in fruit jams (homemade of course...wink) like strawberry or raspberry, both anti-inflammatory....could be good...right? lol I'm into kombucha myself.
