Have her try plantain salve instead of the cortizone. My sister used it for her children with excema and had great results. Itching stopped imediately and their skin cleared up rapidly. The part she and they loved most was that the darned itch went away!

I prefer fresh plant infusions with dandelion, but living in central Alaska, I have to dry a great deal of both leaf and root to get through our 8 month winters. One thing to keep in mind - when you dry dandelion root for infusions, mince the root into small pieces, because she is tough as tough get...

Chaga does give up her goodies to alcohol though. Not completely, but more than enough to be very useful!

I agree - Mason jars, or other large glass jars with a tightly fitting lid, (I recycle glass bottles and jars like a maniac. So many beautiful shapes!) Or a paper bag, in a dark cabinet. Don't jar them up unless you are sure that they have not soaked up a lot of humidity. Herbs must be very complete...

Does anyone here interact with Chaga? It is enormously popular up here - as well as being plentiful. A bit of work to harvest and to make into small enough bits for use - but truly beneficial. Soooooo.... I am wondering - does anyone other than myself, here, work with this wonderful fungi?
