Re: whats in your herbal fist aid kit?

These have served me well over many years: Taheebo (aka pau d'arco) - bark - 1 Tbsp in large pot of water, boil until caramel colour - great for anything respiratory pine needles (I leave those on the tree until needed) - fresh, infusion - tons of vitamin C - I'm still learning about this amazing pl...

Re: Drying herbs

I've accidentally done the fridge drying method too. My favourite way, though, is hanging. It's a slow and gentle method. I feel as though the slow and gentle methods (not necessarily this one) not only retains the integrity of both the physical and energetic nutrients, along with more of its full f...

Re: Heavy Metal Toxicity

Hi Julie, If you want seaweed from less radioactive waters, dulse is a lovely seaweed from the northeast water of Canada or Ireland. I have dealt with heavy metal poisoning from a job I had years ago. It took me a while, but I did a cleansing kit that contained Bladderwrack (kelp), which worked well...

Re: Short or Long Ride with Perimenopause?

I broke open the miso I made last year (takes a year to complete fermentation), and have had some (1Tbsp) everyday. The difference is astounding! I'm feeling more balanced emotionally, much more grounded. I'll let you know how I do once I implement the tinctures, just in case this is helping someone...

Re: Short or Long Ride with Perimenopause?

Thank you for that, Julie. I've read it's worse for people who's PMS was not so wonderful. The only symptoms I Had were cramps, although the first few years the cramps were pretty severe. Emotionally, I never went through anything like this due to hormonal shifts before. It's interesting hearing abo...

Re: Short or Long Ride with Perimenopause?

I also want to say, I've recently started craving alcohol. I'm not a big drinker (1 or two drinks every 3-6 months), so this is disconcerting. I don't know.... maybe I just need someone to say this will all pass? EDIT: I'm reading the menopause section of "Women's bodies, Women's Wisdom", ...

Re: Has anyone ever heard of hedge riding?

From what you're describing it sounds a lot like visiting "The Inbetween". You need to be in a pure and open space within yourself to go there.

Short or Long Ride with Perimenopause?

Hi there, I have been going through a lot of changes over the years (it started about 6 years ago), when I had my first heart palpitation, and I started showing signs of enemia and /or hyperthyroidism (hair falling out and dulling, gaining weight for the first time in my life (I began to increase my...

Re: Beginning Menopause, Acne, Hormones, Vitex, Herbs and fo

Hi Jae Lily, What is confusing you? From what I understand, when we go through menopause, other than estradial, all our other hormones are heightened in their production. Red clover tends to increase our hormones, and so, if I may deduct, will heighten the hormones even more. So, we do not want to t...
