I've been told by a few people that harvest their own that when they find a nice stand they take the top 3rd of the plant and continue to harvest all season. Something about the younger top growth doesn't have the time to form the crystals. I don't remember exactly. This might be why I like it so m...

I prefer brandy myself. although it is only 80 proof I find it is making very nice tinctures. One of my clients recently got a job at a local distillery and they make 100 proof moonshine. I've started using it and I like it very much!

I use Arnica oil in combination with Epsom salts. I find it a very potent combination. Epsom doesn't dissolve in oil though. I made an epsom/arnica ointment and it was difficult to get it to blend. It needs to be used on moistened skin.

I prefer sweet almond oil. I like the way it feels on my skin and in my hair.
