disinfectants

Hi Wise Women,

What do you use to disinfect scratches, wounds, etc? I know usnea and yarrow tinctures are naturally antibacterial, and I have both on hand: can they be applied directly to the skin or nails?

Thanks!

Is Mold Always Obvious?

Hi Wise Sisters, I infused some lovely dried rose petals in olive oil ... admittedly forgot the bottle on the shelf for a bit, and it sat for about 8.5 weeks. When I cracked it open I noticed a few miniscule white flecks on the top ... I thought perhaps it was plant matter, though it looked even mor...

common stimulating herbs

I came across this statement from Susun Weed today: When we take tonics, we feel better and have more energy. When we take stimulating herbs, we also feel better and have more energy, but only when we are stimulating ourselves. There are immediate uncomfortable effects when we lack our stimulant, bu...

Re: Anxiety and Panic Attacks

The class sounds beautiful. I too was raised Catholic. It's interesting how so many of us are ending up somewhere so far from where we were raised (cognitively and spiritually), often against all odds ... Like it was meant to be. :)

Re: climate change

Thanks for giving me so many beautiful words to mull over, NateFlory. It is really something to imagine you moving between the office and homestead ... And I hope your sustainable strawbale house comes to fruition. And I posted an endless comment on your other thread, StephLadd! Thank you too. I wil...

Re: Anxiety and Panic Attacks

Hi Stephladd, I was touched by your reply to my post on climate change ... Now I see you started your own thread and it is nice to know more about you! I'm sorry you "met" those drugs so young ... But I give you a standing ovation for taking this heroine's journey of healing. I am currentl...

Re: Burdock root/seed tincture

Oh bummer. I don't know any physical resources to offer, but I will say a prayer you connect with your burdock root or a good alternative! :)

climate change

I cycle in and out of periods of emotional paralysis as I read about the exploitation of our mother. Over a period of years I had somewhat reconciled myself to the thought of human extinction, but more recently I read that we may make the planet inhospitable to all plant life. I am now mourning thin...

Re: muscles after exercise

Thank you, Rose Red. That is all helpful ... And perhaps more precisely what I'm trying to avoid is the "stiffness" that sets in the next day. I'm sure it is a great protective measure so the muscles can heal ... But particularly in my neck and upper back (which hold pain always), I can ex...

Re: Burdock root/seed tincture

Good luck to you, Maria! I made my first burdock root infusion today, and will be straining it shortly. I found it at a local food coop, and am so tantalized by the smell and aura. I hope it is a good ally for you 'cross the ocean ...
