Re: Does a tree have a collective memory?

I am so glad that you bumped this back up.
Grandmother Waynonaha came in to my life through this place, and re-arranged my thinking in many ways.
I miss her.

Re: Help! Joint formula

Interesting. I too would like to know what you come up with. Give the volume she mentioned, it almost sounds like an infusion.

Re: Herbalism Resources

I remember LadyB's tour(s) with Lyme. Nothing to mess with, and anymore - it seems nearly unavoidable if you spend any time at all outdoors. I have been in Interior Alaska now for years, but not before a go-around with Lyme in SW WI. Yech! I am so glad that we do not deal with it up here. No ticks, ...

Re: What Is A Simple?

i.e. one would be the primary one and then you'd choose two to support it

It rather makes sense to me, but it could surely amount to quite a bit of experimentation..... something to think about.

Re: Flu and Cold Remedies

Nice! Will you share your receipt for it? I made my usual elder syrup, but always interested in the new and helpful. And mullein is so nice for the lungs! Do you use the flowers?

Re: Green Household Magic

Mmmmmm.... I like to make my smudge sticks with lavender at the center. There is a wonderful oregano branch hanging from a shelf by the stove so that I can sniff and sprinkle whenever I like. But the very best of all; when I need it most, I open the glass doors of my potion cabinet and take deep bre...

I use them exclusively, even after all these years. My gram used simples as well.
The only thing I blend is scented sprays.

Re: Flu and Cold Remedies

Don't forget our old standbye - Fire Cider.
I know it is in the archives.... my receipt is written down at home. (big help right now)
I made a bang-up batch late summer that helped me through a pre-Yule cold, and I sent some to my sister, as her kids love it.

Re: Which oil is the best oil?

I still use olive oil 99% of the time. I always have - just like it and am the most comfortable with olive oil. That being said, I will use coconut oil in some instances. I do like it - I just don't like it for everything. Lady A - look to California for your pure, unadulterated olive oil. There is ...

Re: UTI

My first thought was Nettle infusion. 2nd is Burdock vinegar, taken daily. Burdock makes the smoothest, nicest vinegar! Quite drinkable all by itself. Or, if that is too strong, mix 3 tablespoons with some water and take daily.
I know there are others that work well, but these 2 came to mind first.
