Re: Migraines and Diet Connections

This links to a different way of combating Migraine, a different approach to understanding a migraine. This has me stymied as to why this explanation hasn't been shared before, it is so simple. http://www.karenhurd.com/pages/healthtopics/specifichealthconcerns/ht-shc-migraineheadaches I found this s...

Migraines and Diet Connections

Most Migraine sufferers know that their triggers can be a food or several foods and sometimes our body will give us a warning that we need to back off or else we will get a Full-blown Migraine. Well..... I've reached a point that I don't get that little tap on the shoulder anymore. Prior to 2012 I j...

Re: Splinter: will it work its way out, or should I force it?

Red Willow, how goes the splinter?

Old Timers used to use warm Pine Sap to draw out splinters.......Plantain (Plantago spp.) poultice might work too, just keep applying it.

Re: Hot Infusions-Cold Infusions

ItalianBee, I've noticed that Juliette de Bairacli Levy mentions Cold infusions for certain herbs in her Materia Medica 'COMMON HERBS for NATURAL HEALTH'. Many herbalist/writers will just say infusion or tea/tisane but seldom mention Hot or Cold method of extraction.

Re: Relationship with Mother

Imperia...so sorry I didn't see this post sooner. There again maybe it's a good thing I missed it. My birth-mother and I were estranged at the time of her passing....which IS a good thing for me right now today....a few years from now I may still feel that way. I may not but then it is what it is. I...

Hot Infusions-Cold Infusions

While studying I came across an interesting list of herbs/roots that suggests which herbs require boiling water and which need cold (better protects volatile oils) for extraction of the herbal goodness. This book is James Green's "The Herbal Medicine-Makers Handbook" page 110. Hot Infusion...
