Re: Is Mold Always Obvious?

I've had little tiny flakes of mould show up in my miso. I just scoop them out, no biggie. I guess it depends on the type of mould and what it's on though? I'm not sure about infused oil.

Re: Sick all the time!

I would also suggest drinking taheebo (pau d'arco) tea. It will help support your immune system and is amazing for the respiratory system. Have a big pot on the stove continually brewing so you can just dip into it and drink it all day. Pay attention to everything in your surroundings. What is diffe...

Lemon juice works, but I don't mind the taste.

(Peri-)Menopause And The Seasonal Changes

Hello, In the spring I found my system had balanced out, other than the spotting and only having a two day period, but then my last period lasted 4 days, like it used to, and this ovulation I'm feeling the ragey feelings beginning to rear its head, but not fully. My friend who had not had a period f...

Re: Mushrooms!

So, there was one mushroom I saw in my wanderings I was continually wondering about. It stuck in my head and I kept dismissing one possibility because I thought of it as a mushroom that grew in Asia. But low and behold, reishi does in fact grow here. I will never forget it and so the next time I see...

I just took weeks wander in the bush and while I was doing so, I saw more than 20 different varieties of mushrooms, one's I knew were edible! The last few months I've been learning about mushrooms, wanting to be able to forage for more f my food as time goes by, or for when I am on one of my walks -...

Re: My nettles lost their sting

It is a puzzle.

But then, it might not have to do with the variety nor the soil, but the fact that this one plant is getting so much attention? That in itself is a unique situation for a stinging nettle plant.

Perhaps someone will come along here and know the answer. I'm curious, myself.

Re: My nettles lost their sting

It could just be the variety you're dealing with.

Another idea is, are the leaves you touch, or brush by on, older leaves or are they new ones? Does nettle have a limited amount of stinging power?

Re: My nettles lost their sting

When a leaf is stroked one way there is little chance in getting stung. It's possible you just rubbed it the right way.

When I collect nettle, I don't use any gloves and on occasion I might get a sting or two on my wrist from reaching into the plant, but that's it.
