Re: Ideas for making Nettle infusions taste better.
I grow my own Lemon Balm, and it is all quite beautiful. A lovely gypsy plant that is quite clever and will become quickly feral before you know it. Another thing I do is steep the nettle for no more than four hours. Eight hours is a bit overkill for nettle, in my opinion, especially mail-ordered net...

Re: Schizophrenia and Psychosis?
Hi Deer_Heart. I was thinking about schizophrenia right around the time when you posted this. I had some questions I was thinking, but when I logged in, there was your post. It was a synchronicity that spoke to me. I think you are brave to take medication. I was diagnosed with schizophrenic tendenci...

Re: Ideas for making Nettle infusions taste better.
I like to mix my infusions with at least 3/4 nettle and 1/4 oat straw. You are not supposed to do that but I know how each herb affects my body individually and I feel like I benefit from blending them. I don't mind nettle on its own but sometimes it can be too rich, and oat straw helps with that. L...

Re: Sick all the time!
I would suggest making no immediate changes. Rather, perhaps step 1 could be to start exploring the outdoors a little and allow yourself some time for observation and contemplation. Maybe take a deep breathe. Perhaps, spending time outdoors might validate or illuminate what you already know. Perhaps...

Re: Sick all the time!
Hi, everyone. Thanks for reading my posts and taking time to make some much-needed suggestions. In answer to your questions, yes, the herbs that I mentioned are pretty much my all-year fare. I take them in capsule form usually. I used to take Pau D' Arco many years ago, but heard that it could be d...

Re: Preserving syrups?
Yeah sure! To be honest with you, I tend to eyeball as opposed to measure, but 4:1 seems about right. I don't like a strong alcohol taste either, and I forgot to mention that a taste test is implemented throughout the pouring and mixing. ;) It could very well be a little less. But I just opened a bo...

Re: Sick all the time!
Do you take the same herbs all year round? How do you take them? In tea, tincture, capsules?

Re: Preserving syrups?
Alcohol does help! I add about a quarter the amount of alcohol to syrup. Refrigeration helps too. I usually do both.

Re: Herbal Anti-Inflammatories
Have you ever considered ordering the turmeric in bulk as it is done with nourishing herbal infusions?

I love to add a pinch of Himalayan salt.
